The VMC Pepsi 81 is the most common of the VMC 81's but they are still considered rare. The VMC Pepsi 81 came with an all blue paint theme like the one pictured. It has also become an acceptable practice to restore this machine with a blue and white paint theme, providing it is done correctly! Original VMC Pepsi 81s can be found with either the large louver cabinets as pictured or the small, double row louvered cabinets..... We have owned and restored both versions. These machines could also be fitted with different styles of coin mechanism as well, also as pictured. Our pictures show the blue and white machine as fitted with the earlier transition coin mechanism, while the all blue machine is fitted with the nickel / dime coin mechanism. Realize, both these machines came from the factory all blue...... our professional restorations would make you think that the blue and white Pepsi 81 came from the factory this way.
