We have the original stainless steel banding restored by a professional who carefully removes the dents, and then polishes the original stainless banding to a chrome finish. Note: We also have all our original Vendo crank handles polished instead of chromed, because chrome will not stick on an original crank handle, it will splinter off, and can even splinter into your hand.
Caution: Many Amateurs will apply Automotive Plastic Car Molding, instead of restoring the original Stainless Steel Banding.
The plastic car moldings that the Amateurs use is never the correct profile, and can easily be spotted. Cavalier 72's and 96's never came with and banding, metal or plastic that separates the colors..... If you see plastic banding on Cavalier 72's or 96's, it is a sure sign of an Amateur restoration. We fine line the paint job when we restore Cavalier 72's and 96's, the same way they came from the factory.
